The City of Durant hosts its annual event, the Magnolia Festival, on the weekend following Memorial Day. This year's Magnolia Festival is May 29 - June 1, 2014. Durant is also home to many other great attractions such as the Three Valley Museum, the Oklahoma Shakespearean Festival, and historic downtown Durant.
The basis of a great education begins with the Durant Public School System. With three elementary schools, Durant Intermediate School, Durant Middle School and Durant High School, you can be sure that your children will receive the best education possible.
Durant has some of the best post-secondary educational opportunities available anywhere. Durant is home to a top-ranked vocational-technical school — Kiamichi Technology Center — and an outstanding four-year university in Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
